According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, being obese increases your risk of severe illness from COVID-19.

There are several actions you can take to reduce your risk:

    • Take your prescription medicines for being overweight, obesity, or severe obesity, exactly as prescribed
    • Follow your health care provider’s recommendations for nutrition and physical activity, while maintaining social distancing precautions.
    • Call your health care provider if you have concerns or feel sick.
    • If you don’t have a health care provider, contact your nearest community health center or health department.
